Topic: Android alternative to Amplitube

Have been playing with Amplitibe + iRig on my iPad, and I am about to get an Android phone. I know nothing about android world - is there anything like amplitube on Android? I'd love to be able to practise on the phone when I dont have the pad with me.

Re: Android alternative to Amplitube

Not so far but I'm sure one of the companies will have to do something about it as Android becomes very popular

It already is!

Re: Android alternative to Amplitube

I use Android phone and I haven't seen any similar app. The only thing I have is a tuner and some scale generators. The problem could be that many different devices use Android. One has a better processor, one small memory etc... You can't develop something that won't have the same performance for everybody that pays for it. iPhone is just one so developers know exactly how to get the performance in order for the app to be stable. I still think that companies will come up with the solution.

Re: Android alternative to Amplitube

According to IK multimedia, Android has latency issues that prevents them from porting Amplitube.
By 'prevents' do they mean they can't be bothered trying?

Give it a little while longer for Android to truly become the dominant platform and I'm sure they'll change their tune.

Nope, they state that they have tried, but they could not reduce latency enough. I have no reason to doubt them.

Also, this is a much cooler alternative big_smile

Or even the Vox Amplugs, for that matter. It's the size of a cigarette lighter.
